It confirms my...What an interesting sounding book. It confirms my own theories about why I enjoy standing on top of mountains looking into vast fertile valleys. I always thought it was because I could imagine thriving in such an area if I had to raise my own food/find water/shelter there.<br /><br />I agree that many people are hard-wired to appreciate that sort of vista, but it does depend on who you ask. The majority of people who have no art education would like the traditional painting, but anyone who has studied art, even just a little would have a wider appreciation of what makes an interesting view. <br /><br />The painting on the front cover is lovely and what I would describe as classical, while I can appreicate its beauty, I would look for something more in a painting if I were to buy one. I would look for an expression of feeling/emotion, technique, colour, a meaning behind the subject.<br /><br />I wonder what the book says about other genres, portraiture/life paintings or still life?<br /><br />It really looks like a great book, I look forward to reading some more about your opinions on it when you have finished!Spundunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16455750954196299948noreply@blogger.com
