Around a Town #4

This latest installment isn't around only one town, per se ... but there is one thing, a phenomenon really, linking all of these photos together. I've tried to make it a little more difficult this time around, since I've previously provided some big clues.

Looking forward to your guesses!

  1. So (finally!), here's the update on this version of Around a Town. These are photos from my survey-like trip along (and alongside) Route 66:

    1 and 2: In downtown Atlanta, Illinois;
    3. Lincoln's tomb in Springfield, Illinois;
    4. The courthouse in Carthage, Missouri;
    5. Along the route before Catoosa, Oklahoma;
    6. The iconic Blue Whale roadside attraction in Catoosa, Oklahoma;
    7. Tucumcari, New Mexico (right over the Texas border);
    8. On the Santa Fe Plaza outside the New Mexico History Museum;
    9 (left). The one of the "rooms" at the iconic Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Arizona;
    9 (right). Inside San Miguel Mission, one of the oldest churches in the U.S. (over 400 years old); and
    10. Downtown Flagstaff, Arizona.
